are the quality of PCs on the market going up?

Saw a HP that had 3 gigs DDR, 750 gig SATA and the usual lightscribe, graphics, etc... for $599 (19 inch lcd included)

Then Gateway has a 4 gig DDR, 1 terabyte, etc.. etc.. for $499.

saw these at compusa. If these are retail stores selling them this cheap, are online sellers doing better?

I noticed that too. 22 inch monitors are dirt cheap all of a sudden. From what I hear there is a big back up of computer hardware inventory. Now would be the time to deck out a machine.

They are so easy to build, seriously. Don't buy one of the damn off the shelf ones. The cheaper they are the crappier the stuff is they put in them... I love mine never breaks, never any problems and it is faster because it doesn't have all that proprietary software crap!!!
