"Player" is a term put onto someone by other people because either
a) they are seen as dishonest because they lie a lot to women in order to get them into bed with no consideration for anyone's feelings. They are given the label as a warning to others.
or b)the other people are jealous that they seem to effortlessly have conversations and interactions with members of the other sex. They are given the label as a jealous act in order for others to be able to take away what they have.
