yeah i noticed. He might be able to hang with me on bike talk but as soon as you posted your bike's it's plainly obvious you are a "serious" rider who also probably knows how to take your bike apart and fix at least some of the simpler stuff. A 999 is a serious fucking bike, and not exactly a comfortable long term ride..i'm still flummoxed as to why plunk would own one when he's clearly never been the kind of guy to go 150 through mid morning traffic...as most guys with 999's are. I'm not that guy either, I stopped with the gx'er when I realized that there was a whole nother level of riding proficiency i would have to attain to warrant having that bike...and I just couldn't put that time in and keeping that bike was just a ticking time bomb. Ironically though it was the magna that tossed me....lol

Harley has revamped their entire way of building bikes. They took a tip from toyota and started Lean six sigma, They aren't the harleys we used to know SD!!!
Why don't you stay with the Star and get the 1100 ?

What years did harley start to improve? I probably wont be able to afford any full size hog after 2002 depending on miles.
The 1100 is tempting but Ive "always wanted a harley" and need to get it out of my system now lol
Unless I start looking at them and am just not that impressed

If you're dead set on american look into Victory's dave. Better stock motors and they just look sweeter stock without putting more money into em. If I was given a hog I'd still have to put a couple k of my own into it so it would look sweet.

Just checked, it was in 2007. and they can only get better using Lean manufacturing. It's an evolving process.
Now a days owning a Harley doesnt mean owning a oil spot in your driveway/garage.

I'm a power junkie, so I won't buy one ONLY because they aren't trying to compete with the Japanese on Power(yet) and they are doing fine off their name and new reliability
