Is that a 13" tube TV OBL was rawking???

Only replaced the CRT once... And only because the kid I bought the TV from, had busted it while trying to move the TV through a doorway too narrow (the CRT neck sticks out about a foot in back on these old sets).

It's connected to DirecTV, with the dish on the roof.

In all fairness, I'm a former TV repairman, so that's the reason it's working fine. It's a hobby. But I don't use any flat screen TVs. I still use all CRT. I just don't think the picture is as good on any LCD, LED, or plasma. I have a Sony plasma set, but it's unplugged and behind the couch. I got it a few months ago (used), and hated it after watching it 10 minutes.

SD vs SD maybe, but I don't see how you could say an LCD/Plasma with HD has a worse picture than any CRT.

LOL @ makin fun of Bin Laden....

He was livin' off your tax dollars...Clinton confiscated most of his wealth via executive order and still 9/11 happened. Who do you think built his house? Who provided for his day to day quality of life....American taxpayers via funneling money to Pakistan....More Americans have died in the "war on terror" than were killed in 9/11. I don't fly these days because I don't want to be sodomized by the government. Even if Al Queda committed a 9/11 once a year you would still be more likely to die on your commute to work in the Yaris. The "war on terror" is ridiculous and if you do a cost benefit analysis...Al Queda has won.....

For the faithful....Bin Laden is laughing at you while he bangs his virgins...

Never thought virgins were worth the hassle n messy sheets. Fawk dat gimme a breezy who knows she can rub my boys while she blows my trumpet. Send dat shit back to school where they belong!

no ... unpublished vids of me banging my cawk on keyboard

Banging your cawk on the keyboard???

You did send me an unsolicited video, but it was of your using your miniature junk to pick crumbs from between the keys. It did seem to work well in the spaces that were too tight for a Q-tip.

Just sayin'

It's probably all personal preference, but to me, the LCD, LED, or plasma is just too "in-your-face". There doesn't seem to be a wide range of contrast like there is with a PROPERLY set-up CRT. On a flat display, white looks like a spotlight shining at my eyes, while anything between white and gray is still too shiny, I guess. Gives me a headache after watching for 20 minutes. I've gone to the store every time new TV technology comes out, and it just isn't doing it for me, nor for my wife. Everybody else has flat TVs, and neighbors do laugh at us for our 10,20, and 40-year-old TVs. I guess they think we're being tightwads and not spending for a new one, but that's not it. And being a former TV technician, I can tweak a CRT set to do exactly what I want, and I've even designed a custom-made CRT for one of my 1970s Zenith sets (taking the best technology from several manufacturers), and it's still the best picture I've seen to date!

Getting technical here, but Radar, if I recall, is also a TV tech... If he remembers, there was a "supertube" made in 1980-83 by Phillips, with black tinted glass and rare earth phosphors, and black matrix screen. There were at least 2 versions of it; 25VDMP22 and 23VCGP22. It had a killer picture, but it had a bad rep for shorting out. I got hold of one of those, and had a tube rebuilder swap the shorting-prone Phillips gun for a Zenith Chromacolor gun, and that's a picture that will leave an impression on the most picky videophile! No flat display can challenge the picture that thing makes.
