reading on google, there are things that claim you can if you don't sync the phone first and just do a back up

Had a good friend in a legal situation that had him need to try to have his forensically recovered. He paid $500 and it didn't work.

Is your iPhone jailbroken?

No. Not jailbroken.

If it were, Cydia is supposed to do it.

Well I didn't!!! So there. Now how do I get it back? Fuck man, some of you nerds should know how.

I thought you could retrieve deleted texts from a phone with a SIM card. They sell SIM readers so you can catch your cheating spouse even if she deletes her incriminating texts.

WTF is a sim reader? If you don't mind can you find a link to one on the net?

The reader is only a couple of dollars. Then you can find interface software online to undelete the SMS.

What've you been up to, Shirl?

That's true. If you restore from most recent back up you'll have everything including texts that were on your phone during your last backup.

This means you won't have any texts that occurred between that one and the present though.

And careful not to create a new backup before you restore from the old, or it'll just put on your phone what's there right now.

I have a program that lets me view my iPhone on my computer and you can easily save texts from there when you want to. Not that it would help in this case because it can't retrieve the old shit.

You can not retrieve old text messages from a back up. You're suppose to be able to but it doesn't work. When I upgraded to the 4s it only transferred my settings and apps but not my messages. If they're deleted they're lost for good bro.

Didn't work for you.

It's worked for me. Not on purpose. I restored from back up for another reason and was pissed when I only had my old texts.

Thanks for the info and research. I always pay back favors.

Would you like your nude photos returned?

Try this Dr.Fone for iOS , the World's 1st iPhone/iPad/iPod Data Recovery software for personal users that can recover data directly from iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, including contacts, photos, videos, SMS, iMessages, call history, notes, reminders, voice memos, etc., as well as retrieve previous data by extracting it from iTunes backup.

Newly support iOS 7 and iPhone 5S & iPhone 5C!

yes. They have to have to be female, when they were born.

old thread-but FYI

all texts and photos are stored on your computer in a file folder called "iPod cache"

balee dat.

Text Messages are stored in a Database format, and not as individual files. It's unlikely that they will ever be "overwritten" in the sense you ask, but may well remain in the database tables either forever, or until such regular purge mechanism clears them out on a schedule.
So if you deleted messages, you can try two methods: You can use iTunes to recover deleted SMS from iPhone; You can try recover from iTunes with iPhone Data Recovery.

You know dick about text message recovery you 1/2 fgt

I know the standard deletion on iPhone handset can't actually delete the messages. Some advanced recovery tool can retrieve them in some way. So when I decided to resell my iPhone 4, I searched and founded that there are many third-party software on the market. One of my friend told me that try the iPhone Data Recovery. I used it with the highest data-erasing level, so it surprisely worked. If you want to recover deleted text messages on iPhone, you can just a try.

I collect three way to retrieve deleted text messages on iPhone.
1. recover iphone text messages from iTunes backup
2. recover text messages from iPhone directly with some iTunes Backup Extractor app
3. recover text messages from iCloud backup.

Send your phone to me & I will recover your messages for you.

Sent from my GT-N7105T using EliteFitness

These are good solutions for this issue:

If you have already backed up your iPhone with iTunes, you can get the deleted text messages back by the following steps using iTunes:
Click the File menu and select Devices > Restore from Back up.
Or
Open the iOS device's Summary tab. There are two ways to access this:
Click the device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper right corner. The device button will then be visible.)
From any view in iTunes, click the View menu and select Show Sidebar. Select your iOS device in iTunes under Devices.
Click the Restore Backup button.

WTF? Do 3rd world tech faggots troll the entire net looking for iPhone questions, so they can take the time to create a profile and answer a simple question that was probably retarded to begin with?

As we all know, iTunes can backup your iPhone data . So you can extract data from iTunes backup ,if you lost data from iPhone. iPhone data recovery enable you to recover contacts, SMS, photos, videos, calendar, notes and call history etc.

1.Go to the Setup Screen
Go to the settings application on your phone and move to the "General" tab in the settings area. You will be able to find the "Reset" button in this section.
Once you tap the "Erase All Contents and Settings", it allows the user to delete all the phone data. This will in turn take you to the setup screen that allows you to restore the phone data.

2.Restore from iCloud Backup
From this point on, you just need to follow the instructions stated. Once you reach the "Apps and Data section/Set up your iPhone", select restore the device from iCloud backup.

You will have to sign into your iCloud account in order to be able to backup. When signing in ensure that you use your Apple ID and password. You should remain connected to the wireless connection in order for the process to complete.

These are the two simple steps to recover deleted text messages from iCloud. The main disadvantage of this process is that you will have to overwrite all your current data in order to restore your lost data. The other disadvantage is that with this process you will not be able to retrieve specific messages.
