The early to mid-2000's was no doubt a terrible time for steroid users due to all of the negative attention these performance enhancers were seeing. The big story about baseball players juicing was finally uncovered around this time, and baseball purists everywhere admonished roids as the devil's first-born son after their game had been "violated" by steroids.
Infelizmente, it wasn't just million dollar athletes who suffered the consequences as even recreational steroid users who were only juicing to look better suffered as well. De repente, having a single steroid pill was punishable by a lengthy jail sentence. And if you thought about dealing....well good luck in prison.
Mas ultimamente, it seems as if steroids aren't the big story anymore. No longer are you seeing newspaper headlines and ESPN cover stories dedicated to steroids on a regular basis. Sure there is some coverage dedicated to the bigger stories such as Lenny Dykstra and Ken Shamrock admitting to juicing, but for the most part, roids don't seem to be the evil that they once were.
Infelizmente, it seems as if the damage has already been done for amateur bodybuilders and recreational users because the felony steroid laws don't look to be repealed anytime soon. But at least we don't have to worry so much about the public looking down on people for juicing as badly as they did a few years ago.
