stomach problems

ok since yesterday ive been having really painful stomach problems. It feels like my stomach is burning. I have to burb alot and it usually gets more discomfortable after i eat. When i burb it kinda smells like old tuna, but i havent had tuna in a week. I even threw up last night after i ate. I was drinking the night before but this doesnt seem like something that would be associated with a hang over and it already lasting into the next day. When i woke up my stomach was alright but then i ate some food and its just goin back to were it was. Also when i eat i feel more full, i eat the same can of chili everyday i can finish it and still feel hungry, now i cant even finish it.

if it continues on ill see a doc

hey bro sounds like bad heartburn

you taking any orals? i know dbol upset my acid reflux even after one tab

don't eat near bed time, and most definitely avoid alcohol

just tell a doc your problems, acid reflux and heartburn are very common

i take meds for mine, it's not a big deal as long as you treat it quick

your primary physician will send you to a gastro

It does sound like reflux. Hopefully no ulcer involved. Reflux can be treated and further managed with drugs (nexium, priolosec, aciphex, etc.), but you should get teh problem at the root and avoid the foods (or drinks) that cause the flares. I have to pretty much avoid wine, esp. dry wines.

I also eat my foods in a certain order, take probiotics and digestive enzymes (like bromelain to help digest red meat). I take fiber and eat plenty of veggies as well.

I used to have horrible reflux and managed it with drugs (prilosec) for quite a while. During that time I studied and learned how to manage it without drugs. Now I rarely have flares (maybe once every couple months).

im on dbols, but ive been on them for almost 5 weeks, this is the first time of the problem. ANYTHING i eat gives me this feeling, never had this problem before.

i was thinking maybe i developed a ulcer from drinking that night. i drink occasionally, i had friends come up and visit me so we went out. I was drinking captian morgan all night.

Could be acid reflux or ulcers. Try some over the counter reducer such as prilosec OTC or another form of the likes. If after a few days that does not help you should seek a physicians advice for possible stomach, sm intestinal ulcers. avoid acidic foods such as pasta sauces, spicy foods, and such, also avoid caffeine, coffee, alcohol until you find out of OTC medications help.
If your problems persist you need to see a Dr as if it is ulcers they can get nasty, can bleed internally, and aslo can turn cancerous..not something to screw off about.

i also think im constipated, yesterday in the afternoon i wasnt at all, but today i feel like i have to but i cant get it out

I would try some stool softener for that problem
Maybe a better bet would be a teaspoon of Epsom salt

I haven't heart of heartburn or acid reflux accompanied by constipation before. I would avoid OTC acid buffers (Prilosec, pepsid ac , alka seltzer , tums or anything acalcium carbonate) until that is verified by a doc. Those products buffer stomach acid which makes it harder to digest food.

Agreed on the stool softener. Also some oil...3 or 4 tablespoons of olive oil will help get things going.

Dyspepsia and GERD can absolutely be accompanied by constipation. The two are treated concurrently often.

The drugs can be good for treatment of acute flare ups, but I do prefer a more holistic approach to long term management, as I stated in my earlier post.

Also, as I stated before, your best plan of action would be to go see your doctor.

Agree with the others. Either it's GERD, gastritis, pancreatitis, or your gallbladder.

I'm leaning toward gastritis given your recent alcohol binge. If it's gastritis, then definitely take a proton pump inhibitor (Nexium, Protonix, OTC Prilosec, etc.). For gastritis, the recommendation is to take one of those (OTC Prilosec will be the easiest to obtain) along with overlapping it with an H2 inhibitor (Zantac, Tagamet, etc.).

Usually I treat gastritis patients with double dose PPI (e.g., Prilosec one tablet every twelve hours) for 2-4 weeks and overlap the PPI with Zantac 150 mg every twelve hours for the first week since it takes about a week before a PPI starts working properly.

Some common characteristics of various pain:

- GERD - worse an hour or so after eating, worse with lying flat like at night
- pancreatitis - solid pain, usually doesn't wax and wane, worse after eating; pain typically center of stomach radiating to back
- ulcer - usually gets better with eating, only to worsen an hour after eating
- gallbladder - pain occurs after eating, worse at night (around 1 am since cholecystokinin peaks then -- causes the gallbladder to contract); pain usually epigastric or right upper quadrant and can radiate to shoulder
