Do I put the bottle in the oven at 250 with the stopper and metal ring on the bottle. I am worried the rubber will melt. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I wouldn't put a rubber anything in an oven. It won't last long. I also wouldn't put anything that's not vented in an oven. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Take it from someone who knows what they are talking about...Yes bake it with the rubber stopper, just drain the pressure out of it after the 12 minutes of baking then repeat two more times ![]() ![]() ![]()

The 250F is the minimum temperature for steam sterilization under pressure (autoclave). Putting a bottle in your spore packed oven set at 250F will do very little (it will drive of volatile organics and water but it wont sterilize). The minimum standard for dry heat sterilization is 60 minutes at 360F. Get a pressure cooker or find someone with an autoclave . ![]() ![]() ![]() |
