I've rediscovered an old food item thats great for those wanting a tasty source of protein and aren't worried about a little fat and salt: Hormel Black Label canned ham. This is NOT spam. This stuff tastes great and has 5 grams of fat (2 saturated) and zero carbs per 15 gram of protein serving. They are a little expensive considering I eat half of the $8 ham for a snack....that's supposed to be 5.5 servings...who comes up with this crap? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I eat the large cans of chicken (like chicken of the sea or starkist). Almost no fat and about 50g of protein, along with 3 cups of skim milk (another 20g)... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I've been drinking shakes with 1 scoop whey protein, 3 raw eggs, two table spoons of peanut butter, one bananna, 4-5 scoops of light ice cream, and 1% milk. MMMMMMM yummy shit. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

whodaman, a raw eggs are not really good for you there bro. True they do have a high protien quality, but with all of our friend bacterias running around I will keep my eggs cooked. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Same here. I make a shake with two scoops of Isopure (50g protein), 1 scoop of natural vanilla ice cream, two huge tablespoons of natural peanut butter, and two plain graham crackers. This is a great shake and it will put some quality weight on your frame. -TG ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Canned ham products are insane in the amounts of sodium they contain...we're talking grams per container....that's just what I've noticed. Like *HAMSTUFFER* said "canned chicken is pretty good"...I eat it when I don't have time to prep meals..but that's not very often seeing as I get up at 6am to prepare the days meals... ![]() ![]() ![]()

I hope you guys are watching the sodium intake on the processed stuff, the sugar on the sweet stuff (ice cream) and the bad fats in the peanut butter (should be natural). I don't think you need the raw eggs, probably putting yourself at an unnecessary risk. I don't think that's what's meant by "eating clean." Why not boil a few chickens without the skin, crock a few lean roasts, bake some yams, and eat raw veggies and fruits like they're going out style (leaf lettuce, celery, cucumbers, bananas, apples, etc).? Even omelets are good. Lay off condiments, salt, sugar, etc. Then of course heap on the protein shakes and MRP's. I just wish MRP's didn't have so much iron in them. Just an observation, hope you bros don't mind. My $0.02. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Raw egg whites contains Avidin, a glycoprotein that attaches to biotin. What does this mean? That means your body will be rob of biotin and you might even become Biotin deficient if you chow down enough raw eggs. Biotin plays a role in protein metabolism. This is why it's better for you to cook eggs. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I found these Hormel Roast beef in Au Jus microwavable dishes that are ready in 4 minutes or less. I can't remember all the nutritional facts, but it had 98 grams of protein in each package. It was 3.5 servings, but it wasn't that hard to eat the whole damn thing because it tasted so good! they have them at Wal-Mart. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]()

Get a piece of chuck steak, spray olive oil on both sides, sprinkle some seasonings and then fry em'. That beats out any canned ham or spam. It doesn't take that long to cook it either. It's even faster if you have one of those George Foreman grill. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hey Bros... I'll tell ya what shakes I have made that are really awesome... I use 2 scoops of Methoxy Pro(quite expensive, but well worth it)... about 10 ounces of skim milk, a banana, and about 3 tablespoons of vanilla ice cream... they taste great!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
Amateur Bodybuilder ![]() ![]() Posts: 97 |
hey rjncmedic, i'm sorry, and if methoxy pro is working for you that's great, but all the guys at the place where i get my suplements told me that stuff is shit. i tried it and didn't get anything off of it. they also told me that you would have to take that whole can in a day to the the amount of isoflavones you're supposed to have. if it works for you, that's great, but i believe it's a lot like muscle tech, the advartising is far greater than the actual results you get. my protein of choice is maxmuscle high 5. that is some good shit right there. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Methoxy Pro are for suckers. Why would anyone who uses gear pay extra for shitty supplements like ipriflavone? Just get some whey, glutamine, vitamins, and use the saved money to buy better gear. Methoxy Pro 2 lbs $30 (netrition.com) You do the math. Put one extra scoop of whey on the Prolab and you already surpassed all that "fortified amino acids" crap Methoxy Pro has. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

well thanks for the compliment MASK... I only know about Methoxy Pro because it was recommended by a friend... my gains are probably more from the gear, but who knows... I'm always up to try something new when it comes to protein shakes and crap... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

There is a product called "All Whites" they are pastureized egg whites only. You can put them in shakes without cooking them. In fact they have a protein shake recipe on the carton. I carton is 25 g protein an 0 fat. I use 1 MET-RX chocolate peanut butter, 1 carton all whites, 1 tbsp flax oil, 1/2cup oatmeal, blend on high for 40 sec. 62 g protein ![]() ![]() ![]()

Would it really kill you guys to get a big pot, boil 50 eggs at once and then store them at the fridge? Chop them up, add them with salad shrimp, mayo, and you can make an egg salad. Chop them up and add it to your tuna salad. Chop them up and put them on your ramen. Push a stick on the egg, dip it in chocolate or caramel (try this one and let us know how it was). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

One of the best snacks I have ever had was the peanut butter and cream cheese sandwich, while washing it down with 3 scoops of purewhey. Three a day is the best, and they taste delicious! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I continue to throw raw eggs into a protein drink, carrots, spinach, carrot and orange juice, horny goat weed and glutamine. The peanut butter thing sounds great, but it just looks as if a peanut butter/ice cream combo is leaning toward too much saturated fat, even with a quality protein (Max pro from MaxMuscle). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
