I'm thinking one of you two bros could possibly help me out on this one. I was weighing out my yohimbe HCL and putting it into capsules when my bro knocks over the paper with the Y HCL right into a cup of water that had been setting in my office for lord knows how long (over a month). Well, I decided that instead of waste it I would pour in a little more water and make it a 5mg/ml solution... Well, here's the deal... That was about a month or two ago and I'm sure the water is (and probably already was) extremely contaminated with bacteria and algae. What are your ideas on sterilization?

As long as you cook it hot enough(which you are), for long enough interval periods(which you also are), you shoud be able to get rid of the most harmful bacteria. Adding clean water after is fine too. About the tabs, I have no idea since I've never seen/used them before. Macro should be able to answer that one better than me. Godspeed | ||

This has to be one of the strangest questions. And I really dont have any better solution- that should work fine unless whats in the tablets reacts chemically with yohimbine HCL. You could boil it, but I am not quite sure what Y hcl melting point is, off hand. Why not just buy more yohimbine hcl? its really not that expensive ------------------ | ||

If you exceed the melting point you still shouldn't loose it. If you exceed the vapor point it's gone. | ||

The tablets for water pruf. are used in the Military(and I used a many of them)...we called them " Willy Pete " tabs....they are nothing but Iodine tabs...around 2 per quart of water is good. If you buy them, ensure they are gray in color, if they are brown and dis-colored...toss them. Believe me, I've put those little bastards in some nasty ass water and drank it....turns the water a slight tint of orange....drank stagnate puddle water once...had so many of those little bastards in there...the water looked like Tang....heh heh heh I personally like option 1 better, or for the price...opt for mac's idea and replace it... I have access to a lab... Maybe I could pasturize it as I said then make an augar plated smear and do a gram stain, endospore check, capsule stain, colony structure, etc... then note the clustar apperance, shape, color, and smell and search through microbiological archives till I find out if there is a pathogenic bacterium that matches the characteristics...
