My doctor prescribed me Zantic (containing Ranitidine). I have read somewhere, about a year ago, that some stomach medication may reduce the effectiveness of AS or reduce the absorbtion of oral AS. Do you know if this can happen with Zantic/Zantac? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

yes it can.......later well sorry i was wrong.....see tagamet hb 200 is a anti-androgen see anti-androogens bind to your amabolic/androgen receptors and might prevent the artifical/or no natural test from binding to the receptors at sites like muscle tissue........later ------------------ [This message has been edited by ultragainz (edited March 06, 2001).] ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I assume it changes the pH in the stomach causing the absorbtion of the oral to be less. As for the injectables...I can't see how it would effect them. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

ULTRA is correct, Cimetadine (Tagamet) is the problematic agent, Ranitidine and Nizatidine have not been shown to inhibit androgen function. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I was heavily involved in drug development and research for several anti-secretory gastrointestinal agents, and I don't see any problem whatsoever with your use of ranitidine. It is true that tagamet (cimetidine) has been shown to have some anti-androgenic properties, but there shouldn't be any problem with Zantac (ranitidine). ![]() ![]() ![]() |
