Zoloft???

Zoloft??? and Anabolics!

I was just wondering if any of you had taken Zoloft before and did it have any adverse effects on your workouts? I have not been sleeping good for months and the doctor says I am stressed out because of running a new business. Thanks

Shoot your greedy ass Dr. He's just trying to get paid by prescribing you legal dope. Try smoking weed instead-less side effects. If you're self employed-no drug test to worry about. Just my 2 ccs.

Im running 100mgs a day of Zoloft and at first it hindered my sleep. I went back to the Dr. and got a script for Xanax. If you have anxiety only Xanax is great for sleep... Good Luck

Zoloft does not affect sleep, gear, stress, anxiety, nothing, it is suppose to minimize depression and anxiety,

But it does not do that

It does put my cat to sleep,

Tell your shrink to go to Medical School in the United States and study Anxiety & Stress.

Tell him your friend, told you he is a moron, pushing drugs, and give him my name.

I was thinking of just kicking him in his sack and asking him if that caused him anxiety. I have been taking lunesta a few times a week to catch up on sleep and that worked great and all of a sudden he wanted to try something else. The only psycological issue I have is (pussy I know) randomly throughout the week I will get all tight in the chest and throat. I have not ever been like this in my life. I am 29 yrs old and have done everything from 190mph on my bike every weekend to taking stupid dares and jumping out of moving vehicles. Now all of a sudden I get (scared) over daily life .... What gives???? I have been off the anabolics for a couple of months now after years of cycles on and off, not ever taking more than 12 weeks.

Don't think it's a sign of weakness bro. It's real that a part of your brain can become overactive and cause the symptoms your speaking of - it's a real disorder that causes real problems. Having said that, zoloft is a SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor), which in short, prevents serotonin from being reuptaken after it has been released into the synapse, thereby allowing it to exert it's effects for longer; it's thought that serotonin serves to calm you, thus is the reason why it's been the focus of so many pharmaceutical company's for deppression and anxiety. However, they really don't know how any of that shit works, and it's long term side effects are not well documented and poorly understood. IMO, low doses of marijuana can serve to calm you in the same way, and it's probably much safer, but unfortunately not legal . Xanax, or any benzodiazipine for that matter, I would not reccomend for long-term anxiety simply due to the fact that there is an issue of tolerance with the drug, and xanax will depress a lot more of the brain than just the part that is causing you anxiety; I think it should only be used short-term (such as acute treatment for an anxiety attack). And having said all this, SSRI's are very beneficial for some people, but they also cause a lot of people sides (many they may not even be aware of).

But really, stuff like yoga and breathing practices can often be just as, if not more, beneficial than drugs can be at alieving anxiety (they have real physiological effects on the brain (just like drugs :D) - all psychology has physiological roots).

But enough of this in a steroid forum, lol; I hope you feel better bro :)

Dude those sypmtoms are classic panic attacks and it doesn't make you weak. It could be too little serotonin, but it may also be too little norepineprhine or dopamine. The zoloft may help. The xanax will help when you feel the symptoms coming on. A couple beers helps and some weed will help too. But the thing that makes them go away is when you finally figure out that they can't hurt you. The meds might help you to stop thinking about them too because the frequency of attacks will lessen. It helps break the precipitory anxiety. Zoloft makes you sleepy as shit you can always try something like Wellbutrin which is more of a stimulating anti depressant. It sounds backwards, but it works for many people. Stay on the meds as short a time as possible though. Some like zoloft and effexor can be a bitch with withdrawals.

It could be more than just that. That is just one group of neurotransmitters known as monoamines (one of the three major categories). You also have amino acids, peptides, and acetylcholine. These are for the CNS; the peripheral nervous system has only two: acetylcholine and norepinephrine.

In other words, it's very complex and the pharmaceutical company's are blowing smoke up ass when they act like they know what they are talking about. They know certain drugs produce certain effects, but for the most part they are just guessing when they try to explain how.

There's your neuroscience 101 class for the day :)
