ppl you look up to and idolize, and why

mine are (in no paticular order):

kazushi sakuraba- amazing charisma in and outside the ring. bar none, no bigger overall fan favorite.
mirko flipovich- insane kicks
wanderlei silva- amazing well rounded fighter/ nice guy outside the ring
royce gracie- the man that brought bjj mainstream
helio gracie- the man that started one of the greatest martial arts of all time
carlos gracie jr- who's school i train under (gracie barra)
and ofcourse rickson gracie- the lion of the gracies- what else can i say about the toughest man in the world
bruce lee- high kicks, screams !, amazing theories, and all around renaissance man
jackie chan- makes awesome movies
jet lee- makes awesome movies :D

Fedor Emilianenko and Mirko. Both are multi-talented (although I wish I could see Crocop doing submissions more and saving that incredible kick some, just to show how well-rounded he is).
Both are very skillful but remain so composed at all times.
On the other side of the coin, Wanderlei Silva is also at the top of my list. Also very skilled, but gets a lot of mileage just from his pure aggression. The Axe Murderer has earned his nickname.
Also, much respect to all the Gracies, especially Royce, whose willingness to fight and beat much bigger opponents got me interested in the first place.

cro cop- cuz that left kick is insane
Fedor- after watching him get slammed hardcore by randelman and then submitting 10 secs later!!!
chuck- awesome striker
georges st. pierre- future ufc welterwieght champ
Frank Mir- slick jui-jistu artist

Joon Jae Lee, Grandmaster of ITK, my current style.

Bruce Lee, as Yarg put it, "renaissance man".

Royce Gracie, for brining BJJ mainstream

Rich Franklin, for being a talented up-n'-comer

If it doesn't have to only be currently active fighters, I probably should have mentioned Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. And Sammo Hung, and Yuen Biao

Renzo Gracie - probably most rounded Gracie who has fought top line competition (Rickson would probably do him over however)
Mark Kerr - managed to combine amazing wrestling, submission skills and stand up for a while, all while addicted to painkillers.
Wanderlei Silva - insane
Minotauro - as close to the total package as there is
Randy Couture - amazing adaptability, changes his game to suit any opponent. Has beaten 'unbeatable' stand up guys (Belfort, Mo Smith) and has well documented ground game. Humble chamion, great advert for MMA
