that's because higher levals of testosterone have been linked with men in prison, thus more agresion.

very good point.

Lemm just point out one thing.

Body Builders: Win competitions by LOOKING the best.

Judges: People chose to LOOK at body builders to see whos body is the best.

1. Ask any body builder what the most important asset is to the sport.

2. Eat doughnuts, chips and drink some soda right before you go to bed eveyr night. LOOK in the mirror after a month.

3. My OPINION is dieting counts for about 75% of your fitness goals.

I have a friend that competed in the before and after competition here in hawaii and he won the whole damn thing. "Dieting is by far the hardest, but most important pahse of my physique goal."

I think he he was just trying to show that if a person isnt gorging himself on fastfood and cheesecake, he can pretty much eats some that shit and still look good depending on the genetics.

The problem is nobody can eat a half slice of cheesecake or 10 french fries. Everyone wants to point the finger at carbs or fats for the obesirt increase, but the real problem is just over consumption of everything. I think thats what George wastrying to get at.

Diet will dictate largely how successful you will be if you want to alter your appearance, but to maintain the current condition of a person its really just not eating much more than you burn or not eating too little. Since your metabolism is a largely determined by genetics, i think he has a small point.

I never said you can or should eat any old crap you want and you'll look ripped. That's also not what george was saying. I thought his post was (correctly) addressing the absurd culture that has grown up around 'special' diets and macronutrient madness.

"But you don't really need another book to tell you to eat wholesome foods, do you?"

Nuff said. There's no indication of pizza, ice cream, sodas and french fries in that message. There's no mention that you can stuff your face to the point of being sick 24/7 while sitting in front of the TV and still look like your identical twin who eats right, trains hard and gets plenty of rest. However, work in identical twins does show that how you look and how fit/lean/muscular you are is ~80 genetically determined. So that only leaves ~20% up to the diet, training, rest etc.....For bodybuilders, that 20% is crucial. It makes the difference between a greyhound that wins it race and one that never even makes it to the starting blocks.

Everyone is looking for a diet that will allow them to eat all the foods they love, avoid foods they hate and always feel full and full of energy while looking lean and muscular. It's a pipe dream and once you accept that, you won't need to waste so much mental energy on boards like this obsessing about every little gram of carbs you put in your body. You'll accept the body you were born with, put clean fuels in it to keep it running optimally for as long as possible with as little maintenance as possible and just be happy. No matter what you eat, getting competition ripped is incredibly hard work requiring enormous disipline and self control. That's a separate issue from general good physical fitness since it requires you to actively eat submaintenance calories for an extended period of time in a world full of yummy excess calories. Preparation for BB competitions has little to do with macronutrient ratios as long as protein intake is adequate and calories are submaintenance. It's easier to stick to submaintenance calories if the food you eat isn't too yummy (french fries, pizza etc...). It's not rocket science.................................

I disagree with the statement that diet has little to do with the way you look.

I am working out in more or less the same manner as i was a couple of years ago. However, now I'm strict with my diet, and am MUCH leaner and more muscular looking. Its all down to diet.

every country has lean strong men because food is food it either has protein carbs or fat. Plus every country has steroids

YOU ARE 100% RIGHT , BRO ! ! !

as long as you eat the same % of proteins, carbs, fats (EFAS vs saturated), fiber, alcohol and the same amount of calories,

the kind of food you eat does not really matters
