you remember your first time behind the wheel?

My dad was a real ass about letting me test drive the family cars. I think I drove once before getting my license, other than Driver's Ed class. My best friend's dad bought him a Cutlass convertible and said "if you don't drive this I'm going to take it away".

My dad taught me to drive manual when I was 13 or 14... hehe. I drove really well by the time I got my license at 16.

lol. most parents are over protective of their own cars.

i was a natural

years of videogames prepared me to be fast and reckless, but never slip up

i only drove for a week before taking the test for my license and passed with flying colors

First time I drove with my mom around the block when I was 15, I remember it not being anything like what I imagined it to be, it felt a lot different, easier that i thought it be i guess

i was on my dads lap-i did really good until i turned up the driveway, confused i hit the gas instead of the brake tore up a tree in our front yard....i also remember mom running out & giving dad hell!

I remember when I was 4 I asked my mom for the keys to go check the mail (we lived in a large apt. complex) and instead of checking the mail I hopped in the car. I was already pointed towards the road from inside the garage. I started her right up and started driving out of the garage when my mom came screaming at me. She said hit the breaks and I had no clue where they were and kept pushing the gas. Finally she jumped through the passanger window and pulled the parking break. I then got out of the car and ran away for about 6 hrs. It was a lot of fun!!!

I was kind of intimidated. My dad's Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser station wagon. It seemed humungous. Now I drive a semi with a 53' trailer and have to remind myself not to be too casual about it.
