i am now reading "sickened." it is about Munchaussen by Proxy. this a form of child abuse where the mom purposely makes her own kid sick. This way the mom can get attention from the medical community and her friends about her "poor sick child."

it is a really bizarre book but well written and fascinating. anyone remember the mom in "the sixth sense" who killed her own kid by making her drinking disinfectance? that is Munchaussens.

The movie sucks ass compared to the books.

No, I'm not kidding. Peter Jackson has a tin ear for language and got nothing decent out of Elijah Woods. I don't buy that he had to cut the guts out of the story because it ran long -- he took out half-hours of Tolkien but put in hours of meaningless crap.

I read The Da Vinci Code in three days. Then went and bought Dan Brown's other novels. Read Angels and Demons and liked it as well, and I am now reading Deception Point.

ohh, that's a great book. you're right though, a bit erratic.

i just finished the da vinci code as well - for those who haven't read it, definitely pick it up, it's a great book.

now, i'm reading the life of pi. i'm not very far into the book yet, but so far, i'm really enjoying it.
