in an 8 hour shift. All the tape requests had to be located and mounted on a drive in under 2 min.
After they were read they all had to be re-filed and hung back in the vaults by sequence very carefully, and I'm talking hundreds of thousands of tapes.

I got promo'd out about 3 years before they got the first cartridge
bays. I started, all we had was the reel tapes and maybe a few thousand Brand NEW out cartridge drives..
