Any of the Adobes work to resize. Even MSPaint works and its standard on any windows machine. Just load your picture, click the "image" tab, then click on "attributes". you can resize from there.

thanks Corn but still can't post it, it tells me i've to modifyoptions template so guess it has to be something to do with the BOARD, any ideas?

I resized mine to 100 pixels by 100 pixels and added it under my profile.

Go to Profile - AND THEN TO edit OPTIONS. ADD THERE AS YOU WOULD A PICTURE WITH THE IMG AND THE /IMG BEFORE AND AFTER THE IMAGE.

He's got the same problem a lot of us are having. You click on the change avatar button and it comes up :

It won't let you past this point to change an avatar. Some kind of board glitch.

Rotten.. I tried that... I end up getting the very corner of the picture....the rest is left out??
