i am curious... didnt we kill 130k people? or was it just 30k? JUST????

how was that not an evil act? because we were in war? because they blind sided us? i love this country but too many people out there are saying how innocent we are... we are not innocent, nor did we deserve what happened... just think about hiroshima for a second... we DEVASTATED japan with 2 nuclear bombs. we killed far more than any terrorist attack could come close to...

i feel like a hippie... give peace a chance. (after we get those responsible for this).

with my posts the last week its obvious i am consumed by this...

i really hope there is a football season... and i hope i can actually get excited like i usually do.

The differences that I see are,

A. We warned Japan what wold be coming .

B. It was during a time of war- which the bombs promptly ended saving God knows how many American lives.

I also haven't heard one person say that we are innocent. I am not saying that someone on the boards didn't say that, I just haven't seen it. I think a lot of people know that our country has committed sins in the past, however I believe that they were probably necessary in most cases.

The target justifies the means

The problem was, the US had their hands full with Japan and then they had to help Europe fighting Hitler.
Hitler was a great problem, since he wanted to conquer the world, including America.

So Japan collapsed after the second bomb on Nagasaki. The US only had 2 bombs at the time.

There is not one country without sins.

Some of your post are starting to suck. The diff is.

1. Japan would not surrender. We would lose an around 1million troops invading them BIG FUCKING REASON!
2. It saved more more of the japs than it killed. They were arming women and kids to "Fight to the death at all cost"
3. It was war.
4. They started it. We finished it.
5. The treated our POWs worse than you would treat a roach.

Dude I have always thought you to be some what smart, but with your post recently I am starting to wonder. Please dont take this as an insult. There is a BIG FUCKING DIFFERENCE! This is probably the stupidest post I have ever seen you write. Your a teacher or something are you not? Figured you would know this.

A. We warned Japan what wold be coming

This is a very important fact. Japan didn't want to surrender. And the US warned them. If Japan, had in fact, after being warned, stopped waging their war, then the US would not have dropped the bombs. At least, this is what I hope.

killing people is killing people. There are no excuses. I totally agree that sometimes it is unfortunately necessary but it's still a sin and there are no excuses for doing it. Do it because unfortunately we aren't capable of living in peace yet but don't be proud of it. There is no reason to be proud of killing people.

US bombers were stationed in okinawa and had full coverage of japan in WW2, and japan had no pilots or planes, the US was unchallenged in the air.....tokoyo was devastated by non-nuclear means, lets not forget that thier cities werre built out of rice paper or materials just as flammable.

also they tried to surrender after the first bomb, it just wasnt fully unconditional. the bomb was a war ender but it was also an opportunity to test it on a population centre.....US and UK scintists had 'no idea' how it would affect the population.

having seen what they did to the US/UK troops i still believe u were justified in dropping a bomb, its just not as clear cut as people choose to see it

interesting how someone from london (danielson i believe) and an american GLP have a complete different view on this...

thats my point GLP, so no matter how unthoughtful you believe my posts to be, they are not in my mind... i am trying to look at this from anyone elses point of view possible... the outside world probably thinks of us as beastly sometimes, over bearing at others...

as for my teaching kids, i hope to god not one of the kids that enters or leaves that building ends up like those of you on this board preaching hatred.
