WTF is wrong with sport parents??

I was at a cousins Hockey game this past weekend. 15-16yr old kids. One of the kids was penalized for "hooking" and the ref called it and gave him 2 min's in the box. The kid smarted off to the ref and the ref kicked him out of the game. I was pleased that the ref did this. When I was a kid and played Football and Baseball we would NEVER talk back to the refs or umps. If we did our coach would have kicked our ass. When this particular kid was leaving the floor I saw the kids dad walk over tot he ice and was waiting for him to start letting his son have it. (That's what my father would have done if I smarted off to an adult)...instead the father started cussing-out the Ref and that caused his sons team to suffer a 10min major. people wonder what's wrong with klids nowadays. All you have to do is go to a sporting event and watch the parents. The think their kid can do no wrong and will take their side over the adult even when the kid is in the wrong. What a shame.

You know whats worse?
biased referees cheating kids out of a game for the home team
It happened last season to our football team.....these were 5-13 year old kids
It ticked off one of our parents that he threw tobacco at the ref, who then called the police
it is unreal
The refs were so biased for the other team, our kids stopped trying because they even knew they couldnt win the game. I think everyone should put the kids first and not themselves.
Thats what sports is for, teaching them respect and the love of the sport. I agree some paretns do get out of hand, its embarrassing to see parents yelling at their kids in a negative way.
I just yell at mine encouraging them.....which in turn embarrasses them.....which kills 2 birds with one stone:)

Jaded..."Be a role model, show your kid how to behave." Yes, I'll teach her that she can stand up to everyone, even if it's a whole sporting event going on and if she's right, then she can do it. It does'nt have to be done with fists, just gotta have a sharp mind and THINK.
You bastard you took me for a her? yes thats right I said her.
I'm redding the hell outta you.

it doesnt get more redneck than that

I don't know. He could have thrown his chew, kissed his sister on the mouth and started playing a banjo while singing a song about how he was gonna "Kick the ref's ever-loving ass".

That would be more redneck.

i think she just left that last part out

ha, yeah parents get pretty serious about sports. Probably like someone else said earlier, because they want to relive the past thru their kid. Sad if you ask me, doing well in sports isnt what life is about.

You should have seen the wrestling matches that we had. Wow, that was just nothing but ugly. Lets just say that its probably a good thing that there was such a gap between the opposing fans.
