When i was playing and coaching it blew me away how crazy some parents are. These people gotta stop living through their kids! I read about a half dozen of these stories a year. Let the kids play for the love of the sport! Its not just hockey but most sports.

Assault charges stem from more rink rage
TORONTO -- Bradley Stephen Desrocher covered his face and raced like a bat out of hell to a waiting vehicle after being released on bail yesterday on charges he choked the coach of his son's hockey team. "A man attended his son's Minor Atom AAA hockey game at Chesswood Arena. When his son was benched for missing team practices the man became angry and started voicing his displeasure loudly to the coach of the team," Toronto Police Const. Wendy Drummond said in a news release.
"He approached the player's bench, continuing to yell at the coach, then reached over the plexiglas and grabbed the coach around the throat," the statement said. "Several attempts were made by witnesses to stop the attack but were unable to before the victim collapsed to the floor."
INDICTABLE OFFENCE
Desrocher, a 47-year-old, large man standing 6-foot-4, committed "the indictable offence of choking and did choke Donald Mark Teskey by using his hands and forearm," according to police charges filed in Toronto court.
The coach suffered scratches, swelling and redness from the attack, spectators at the game said in an online hockey chat room.
"The coach was sent down to the floor. This is a sad day for hockey," one person wrote.
"It was right out of an episode of COPS. I witnessed this first hand and have never seen anything like it in all my years at the rinks," another person wrote.
Others wrote about what a good man the coach is and how horrible it was for his son, who plays on the team and was a witness.
The Jr. Canadiens Hockey Club issued a release yesterday saying its officials wished to express their great regret and disappointment concerning the unfortunate events.
"Our coach involved in the incident is a person of outstanding character," said Harvey Shapiro, president of the Jr. Canadiens.
"We do not wish to comment on the specifics of (the) events. We believe that the matter will be dealt with in the appropriate manner."
After being released from custody yesterday afternoon, Desrocher was driven by his wife to an Etobicoke, Ont., pizza parlour.
When approached by Sun Media, Desrocher pulled his jacket up over his head and said, "leave me alone. I have no comment."
The couple then sped away in their black SUV.
