WTF is going on?!

Has this happened to anyone else?

I've always loved food and eating, but now its gone crazy...
after I started to plan out my meals and try to follow diets I began to obsess over food. All I can think about is what I'm gonna eat next, and I can't wait until my next meal. This leads me to binge almost every meal. Everyday for the past week I have eaten until my stomach HURTS. I've never even been a strict dieter... and I know that I am not starving myself.. cuz I eat 2000 + calories a day and I am only 135-140 pounds 5feet 7. I wanna drop some fat though and get leaner, but this food obsession seems like a major hinderance to my objective. What can I do to stop my cravings and to control my obsession... I know WILL power is probably what i need.. but could there be any biological reasons for these urges? or, is there anything I can do without taking any drugs or appetite suppressants? thanks!
 
my friend had the same problem. he would constantly obsess with food, he would dream about it, it was like his love or something. he wouldnt binge as much while on a diet, but he is known to binge. he also went manic at one point, (not at the same time as he was obessing).. i dont know if this is related, but i would bet you have some predisposition. it is unhealthy. but, on the other hand, if your only eating 2000 calories, i would hardly say your binging. but maybe you meant normally. Anyways, just keep that in check. if your binging alot, i would definatly figure out whats going wrong withyourself.. maybe quit your strict diet for a while.
 
Only try the following method if you are serious about ending your food obsession. Ready? Here goes:

Plan your meals, fix them all before hand, like the day before. Wake up and eat your morning meal. Your next meal is not scheduled until 10am, so everytime you think about food BEFORE it's time, stab yourself in the arm with something sharp. Carry around a pushpin or a piece of glass or something. Just stab your self until the food thought goes away. Then clean the wound with some peroxide or something so it doesn't get infected. Food thought=pain. Your mind will begin push food thoughts away to avoid the physical pain. Trust me, it works! You will be thin in no time. You will have to wear long shirts all the time, but hey, nobody said this dieting thing was easy.

OK, so that's all bullshit, and just a way to illustrate that there really is no trick to it. Sure, you are going to think about food when you first start dieting. But once your bodya dn mind get used to the schedule, things will get easier. It also helps to get enough fat and protein in your diet. Make sure you have some protein with every meal.
 
You're mentally too focused on the diet plan.

Look at it is just one piece of the puzzle and once you get that going focus your attention on the next piece. Training, daily life, stress reduction, etc....
