Hey bro, thanks, I appreciate it, but when I say I don't wanna pay the price for a Breitling, I mean that they are -way- above my budget!!! lol
In fact, my preference would be to stay under 500. I'm really not hung up on name brands for a watch, just wanted something that met my description at the beginning of the thread, something with a fairly deep/thick face, etc.
I saw a Swiss Army Maverick in a store the other day. Wasn't -exactly- what I'm looking for, but not bad..
Another I saw, but still out of my range (about 1700..) was a metal strapped Mont Blac Meisterstuk (sp?)......very classy..

Read Carefully.
I have worn different watches, but this one watch ALWAYS gets me comments from the ladies wherever I go. Girls at parties, girls at check out counters, girls on the train, girls everwhere.
It is also an athletically oriented watch so that as a conversation piece it opens the door for me to talk about my athletics (marathons, triathlons, etc.)
Finally, it's incredibly useful. It has a compass, a thermometer, a barometer, an altimiter, a chronomiter, and seven different types of alarms.

Anway, you can go with the $1000 Tag Haur crap that no one really knows if it is fake or not or go with this watch.

For that price you can have a nice Omega or Rolex/Tudor Chronograph. I personnaly like the Casio G-shock series for everyday stuff, and Tudors for going out. Check out the new G-shock cockpit line, they have some nice looking watchs with awesome functions for sports still.
