You always wanna stay in running shape even in the off season. My wrestling coach always wanted our team to run 3 miles atleast 5 times a week, plus mat time on the mat. I had cardio covered since, I was boxing at the same time. My endurance was and still is off the hook.

Thanks for the advice! I really enjoy running I did cross-country in high school, as well as wrestling.
