I like most animals, but I wouldn't swerve for one ever...just not worth the risk of harming yourself for an animal that's supposed to die in that situation when you think of it from a Darwinism point of view.

Point that, my husband and I joke that squirrels become suicidal in the early fall ... however, from a personal safety point of view, swerving to avoid hitting animals, especially larger ones like raccoons and groundhogs, is the better choice. A friend of my uncle's actually flipped his car when he hit a groundhog (granted, he was the sort that sped up when he saw an animal in the road so there was a little karmic justice there).

I wouldn't admit to anyone I would take the million, but I feel the same way you do. When you are paying $200 a fucking month just for diapers, fuck. A million would be nice. So to help give my kids a better future, there would be one less puppy on earth. I like animals. I've had pets my entire life; a lifetime of cats and two dogs. My initial reaction to this question was OMFG NO I WOULD NEVER KILL A PUPPY ITS WRONG!!1 Then I realized I was a hypocrite. My mind turned that pup into a cow pretty quickly. Just because I don't value the life of some random (imaginary) pup I have no emotional attachment to above a million dollars does not mean I hate animals. I just have kids now, and I see things differently. I wont swerve for a dog but I will swerve for a child that darts in front of my car. I have a kid in the backseat, if I lost control of the car and hurt my daughter because I was swerving to miss a cat, I'd be an idiot...not compassionate. I just have a different mindset than some people I guess. Just to say again; I have never and will never kill or harm a puppy... I've never harmed or mistreated an animal in my life.

Maybe I shouldn't have admitted it so everyone here could think I was a good person. I can't fool myself so easily. Lol!

Considering that somewhere between 3 and 4 million dogs and cats are euthanized every year in shelters, another who knows how many (plus rats, monkeys, rabbits, etc.) are euthanized in the course of medical experimentation, then add in the amount used by universities and schools for teaching purposes, let's see, if you guesstimate it to 7 million dogs and cats yearly euthanized in America yearly, we're talking about 5,000 a second, give or take.

You think anybody would take the million because YOU would take the million. It's easy to project what you would/should do on to what anybody else would do, but that's simply not the case. We're not all Earthrider just like we're obviously not all AFeedz.
