You would not make it past the mandatory time spent as a patrol officer with your anti-police sentiments and attitudes.

same departement don't have a mandatory period, especially Federals and european agencies.

Now being a cop is not for everyone. Some prefer to do patrols others investigations. If you're going for the money, forget about that. You won't be happy. The pay check is good but not terrible. BTW 2/3 of the cops now should not even wear the uniform...

I'm lucky because money is not an issue.

I was asked for my investigation back ground. They want me as a detective but I'll have to pull two years beat work before that can happen.......but shit man I'm stomping in the field everyday now.

Statistically garbage men have a higher 'on the job' fatality rate than police officers. I think more cops are killed in car wrecks when patroling than are murdered by suspects.



For me, i don't know if i could live with myself and being a cop. Destroying people's lives and whatnot, it would get to me pretty fast. If i were a cop in a big city where real crime occured, then i could do probably do it because i would be protecting people. But in the suburbs the cops are just there to bully & frighten the locals for violating the status quo.

You would not qualify to become a policeman. You are too intelligent. Most departments do not hire people that are too intelligenmt because they will often leave and/or make too musch noise.

Look at chesty. He is not a cop anymore and he is a rocket scientist (seriously).

On the other hand, feds (like FBI & RCMP) require smart people.

You're wrong. New recruits have to live up to some tough standards. Most major cities require a bachelor's degree. All of them now have very strict background checks. It ain't like it used to be.
