I do not understand the principle behind some of these anti-war protests. I understand that protesting the war is a freedom that we all have, but I also feel that the way many are going about it is immoral. People who are blocking traffic and practicing civil disobedience in the streets are putting all of us at risk. The police, firemen, and emergency services are having to deal with these morons instead of focusing on their real job of protecting this country against attacks in its time of need. In some cases traffic on major streets have been blocked both ways. What if someone in the traffic jam created by these people is injured or pregnant and in need of medical attention? Someone may die because these people feel it is their right to break the law. In SF people blocked off the financial district and Market Street. In a time where the economy is struggling it makes perfect sense to disallow many to get to their jobs. They even made themselves throw up in the street to show their disgust for the war. Who do they think is going to have to clean that up...the stockbrokers? No, it will be some person working for $6/hr who has absolutely nothing to do with this war. Why don't these people do something productive like volunteer at a children's hospital or a homeless shelter instead of standing in the damn street and putting others' lives in danger. I don't like the protests in any way, but I can respect them if they are done in a way that doesn't put me or my family in harm's way.
