Working OUT

New member
OK People do People Treat u differently ever since u started Working Out

It's funny how people look and treat u differently when u start working out,
4year ago when i was skinny and only weighed 10stone, no one would give me the time of day
and now many years later, Guys at the gym want to be my friend, they want to train with me, i go out and instantly i am accepted in a group or invited and shit, yet i have always been the same person, even my new friends are very different to my old buddies, they are much more beefy, Girls want to catch my attention.
I think it is a bit sad that in other for people focus sooo much on the exterior, forgetting that looks fade with time and almost anyone can have a good body if u work at it
I must say, the people who i really find fun to hang out with are those who dont even workout ad dont care that i do

I lifted throughout high school and was always buffed, but I went through this hippie stage stage and grew my hair long and decided to by a triathlete, I looked emaciated at age 19 then I transferred to Wash State Univ. decided to make a fresh change, new environment and all in the summer term. Decided to get my muscle back afterall muscle memory is cool. Cut my hair, bought new clothes, my buddy and I drove down to tijuana and got some winstrol V (I hope Im not dating myself, lets just say it was awhile back). Anyhow long story short. Instant 30lbs of muscle back by the time fall quarter rolled and all the students came back, and I was ripped and so I REALLY noticed the way people treat you differently on outside appearances. Girls loved me and guys wanted to be my friend, my social life was hopping all due to a chemical I took...kinda made me cynical for awhile about the whole thing.

I agree, I think I missed out on interacting with alot of good people b/c I was so into looking good and having the people I hung with that way too. Sad, but even after I was disappointed with identifying that people treat you differently, I was guilty of it myself.

i soo understand what you mean, like last night at the gym, i had all this guys chatting me to, asking i look good and that and wanting to train together with me and my buddy sometime, and people seem to have time for me, it is a shallow world we live in

That was what shocked my buddy and I was the amount of attention other guys paid to you. Kinda creeped me out. It was actually seemed more noticeable with guys than girls. And Im talking strictly heterosexual terms here too. Weird.
Funny I dont know what the answer to the shallowness is. Everyone goes through a cynical phase, but the last few years I just take a simple approach and strive to follow it, no matter how hard it can be. ONe, people are essentially good. Two, people want to help. After I adopted that philosophy, I got along with so many more people.

Yeah i agree with you it is more noticeable in guys than in girls, paying you attention, but i make sure i dont treat anyone differently because of how they look, because i have been in other side of the fence, ( the skinny Guy who always wanted to get bigger), i dont treat people who dont have a good physic less than others who do, I think it is all about finding the prefect balance.

Yeah, you almost have to make a conscious decision when you find yourself doing it. I try not to and usually successful, but its almost subconscious. And Im not just talking about a good physique, the way people dress, you make certain assumptions about based on the first impression they make on you by the way they look. For example, when I see some dress all gothic, overdyed black hair, purple lipstick, dressed in black, you know the type. I immediately think theyre idiots, cant help myself. I am almost positive though that I could spend an hour talking to them.

wow funny enough u should mention it, where i used to live, there was a girl who lived in the same street as me and she had overdyed black hair, purple lipstick, dressed in black, and high hills, and not until one day we were both in the internet cafe, and we just struck up a conversation, we found out we had soooo much in common and we would sometimes hang out for coffee in our local area and we got alot of looks only because we looked soooooooo different and yet if people only knew that we had much more in common, than most of my friends, it is hard to not judge a book by it's cover, we all go by first impressions, the amount of time, people see me and think, i am stuck up or i am out of their league, only to be surprised that i am sooooo far from that,

Yeah, funny how you can find commonality with someone and be shocked by it. My last gf was somewhat alternative and vegan and etc...not my type at all, but we had so much in common, it was great while it lasted. But soon the differences became too great, that and she turned into royal bitch. 'Scuse my language.
