working out EVERDAY? =/

is it worth working out everyday? like 5 days a week? my friend and i were talking today... he said that its so much faster just working out everyday. getting stronger and stuff. but then i hear you should work out 3 days a week at most? cause you need rest? do you really need to rest? or... is it bad to work out everyday? .. what are the circumstances? maybe doing cardio and other auxilary every other day? ... or just work out like mon..wed..fri? ... someone please tell me what's okay and what's good and what's not.. thanks a lot.
 
I work out 5 days a week , i think its better to do one muscle group per day so you have more energy and focus for that group... thats what i've been doing and i have gained about 40 (un-juiced) lbs since sept. so im gonna stick with it, haha. But remember every 4-5 weekls to take about a week off for more rest for yr body so avoid overtraining
 
It really depends on your recovery time. From what i've read here and outside muscles normally need 48 hours of recovery time to be prepared for the next session (takes even longer for the central nervous system to recover). So if you arent really taxing your CNS to its full limit, then you should be able to train each body part every 48 to 72 hours.

For some people it takes more time, other less. Of course taking anabolics would shorten the recovery period as well.

As for working out everyday, most people like to follow a weekly routine because it agrees with their schedule.

As long as you let a specific body part rest for 48 hours, you can train it again right away imo. Of course you can work chest on monday, and then back on tuesday.. and then if u wanted chest again on wednesday, it all depends on your recovery ability.
