rnch, I agree by the way. I've worked my share of 7p-7a shifts (sometimes picking up another 4 hours OT, for a total of 16 hours) at the hospital before. Hated working nights. Glad I don't do it anymore.

but all in all it's alright.. at least considering the amount of actual work I do.. and the amount of research and networking and stuff I do for my own gains, I sort of enjoy it!

Focus that time on doing some other work you may have.
During night shifts at my donut shop job (in my teenage years, not last year you jerks) - i spent that time working on my next day schedule of my side-business, which was fixing computers and developing business software.
Rest of the time I fucked off.
