I've read most the post concerning working out everyday or every other day. I have been working out on and off for 13 years. I'm no expert by any means and this is just my opinion. I've tried everything. Due to family (2 sets of twin boys) and work I find that working out 3 days a week works best for me at this point in my life. I usually try to keep it between 1 and 1.5 hrs every workout. Bullshit sessions usually keep me a little longer on most days. Hell, most of the guys in my gym are or become good friends.
MON - Chest/Tri/Light Shoulders
WED - Legs/Calves
FRI - Back/Bi/Light Shoulders
For me... It's all about recovery time. There is no way I can work lets say back one day then bi's the next. Because the bicep is being worked in all back movements. I think it's best to stack them together. Same goes for chest and tri's. Going into winter I will not be doing hardly any cardio and getting plenty of rest. Once spring hits, I will start back doing cardio/abs atleast three times a week (Tues, Thrus and Sat) along with my ECA/Clen. I may be different from most with my opinion, but if the body part still hurts, why would you work it. I always thought being sore means the muscle is still recovering from your previous workout (reparation). Correct me if I'm wrong. As far as shoulders, we all know that they get worked in all upper body movements. So, I just hit 2 exercises for 3-4 set on Mondays and Fridays. I'm a professional firefigher so sleep is the hardest thing for me. With all that being said, I beleive sleep and rest are key. I've made good gains with less injuries since I've went to the 3 day training program. If the shoe fits, where it.
