I just noticed....my jaw is all better (well, 95%). I can bite down on the molars on both sides! My jaw actually closes all the way. This is amazing. I guess it just took time (about a month lol).

Im so happy :chomp:

I have TMJ and Ive been in a lot of pain in my right jaw joint for the last month have not been able to close my jaw all the way even. I even went to the doctor thinking I had an ear infection!

I am sorry what is tmj?

The temporomandibular joints (TMJs) connect your lower jaw to your skull. There are two matching joints -- one on each side of your head, located just in front of your ears. The abbreviation "TMJ" literally refers to the joint but is often used to refer to any disorders or symptoms of this region. Such problems include popping sounds in the jaw, inability to fully open the mouth, jaw pain, headaches, earaches, toothaches, and various other types of facial pain.

damn that sucks. Does it flare up and then calm down when ever it wants to?

That's my understanding. This was the first time I had this much pain and actually figured out what it was. In the past, I have had tense jaw from clenching my jaw and teeth which leaves the jaw very sore like a muscle feels after being worked out. I never knew why my jaw was feeling tense every once in a while but now I think I have it figured out.

I just saw this - I was ummmm working on something

did you keep doing those excercizes I gave you, or it just went away by itself after awhile?

I tried those exercises but it didnt feel right - it hurt too much. I did massage the joint area a lot but truly I think it just healed itself with time. Ive been looking into a mouthpiece for the night time at least, but I know I clench my teeth/jaw all day long too.

do you workout? I noticed when I was bulking and working heavy, and would really clench my jaw the symptoms would start up again. now I just use a thick mouthpiece when I work heavy and dont get the problem anymore.

just dont let the dentists sell you on surgery if it starts up again next time. You, me and everyone else I know who had these symptoms all basically had spontaineous remmissions. I think the whole TMJ thing is the dentists version of what "tonsillitus" was in the 60's and 70's (a manufactured income stream).

yeah it used to come and go - hasnt been that bad the last few years because I'm conscious of what brings it on I guess (or maybe I just naturally mellowed out and dont clench my jaw as much lol)

actually, it was originally Lumberg's idea. he thinks women with short stylish hair come across as more confident and sexy. definitely not the attitude of the typical male lol but to each his own.

the night before my haircut appt, i let Lumberg cut off my entire ponytail withthe household scissors

it was so liberating!!! i loved it
