She's got a fucked up back so they put her on a pain management program (oxy and vicodin). Except she buily up a tolerance, started taking 3 times her prescribed dose, would routinely run out of pills and go in seizure with withdrawal.

Now she's in the hospital to detox before they put her on a non-opiate pain management program.

That's a pretty ridiculous cocktail to be on, period. Did the same doc prescribe opiates and benzos? That's almost guaranteed respiratory failure if shit gets out of hand with the meds, which is common with those.

She's been on xanax for something like 20 years. The opiates came in about 6 or 7 years ago and were prescribed by a pain clinic.

Still the Dr at the pain clinic must have known about the xanax.
