Women today are crazier than hell

They're crazier today because they are allowed to get away with it. I can even tell you when it started(This is also the reason why the divorce rate is so high). Before WWII, most women didn't work. They got married right out of high school(or college) and started making babies. If they copped an attitude or went psycho, their ass was out on the street with no place to go. They depended on their husbands for food, clothing, and shelter so there was a certain level of respect that isn't there anymore. When all our men had to go to war, the women had to go to work to keep the factories running, etc, etc. When the war ended, lots of those women kept working. The businesses didn't mind because they got away with paying them less. For a while things really started taking off because business was booming and families had more disposable income since there were more 2 income households. Then things started sliding. Inflation started going through the roof because Big Business caught on that people had more money so they could charge higher prices for products and services(take an Econ class if you don't believe me) and women started figuring that since they were bringing home money, they really didn't need the men as much as they used to. More women in the workplace also caused more infidelity. The invention of the birth control pill helped things along too. Things will never go back to way they were because now it takes 2 incomes to buy what one could 50 years ago. The worst part of this is that nobody is better off. Men aren't better off because we still are expected to be the major breadwinner in the family BUT we have half the opportunities to move ahead that we used to. Women aren't any happier either. The media drives it into their brain that they aren't living up to their potential if they don't have a career but then when they get into their 30's and they have trashed every relationship and have no husband or children, their biological clock goes off and they are miserable. I've talked to lots of women that told me in confidentiality that they WISH they could go back to the days of being married and staying home with the kids while their husband worked. I know I'll probably get flamed for posting this. I want the women in this forum to know that I respect them and I think men and women are equal.... I just think that we were supposed to have different roles in society and we fucked things up. It's both parties faults.

Thats a good point. The number of women who are miserable because they have to dump their kids in daycare are legion. Also men are definetely tired of having the pressure of leading a family, while having to split duties down the middle with his wife. A lot of people dont talk about it, and you certainly wont hear about it in todays media.

I agree for the most part. I posted something similar a month or so ago. I don't see how families can be all that they can be with both parents working full time. Both spouses are tired and the children don't get enough attention. I've done it and it's not easy. I now work part time and much of it is done at home. I think all of our lives run smoother and we're happier with my husband being the primary bread winner and me the bread baker.

Also, American's are spoiled...we want too many material posessions. This fact leads to everyone working more than they actually need to, just so they can buy more stuff. What's the point of having all this stuff if you have to spend so much time working to pay for it all...and most people are in debt because of their greed.

Yeah, there are definitely a lot of women who are uncomfortable with some of the choices they have made in regards to have a career and sacrificing some family life for personal fulfillment. But the point is that the choice was their to make. They weren't forced into being what ever the male-dominated society expected them to be, as in the 50's, we have a choice. We may not all make the RIGHT choice, but that's part of living and learning.

YOU got to make that choice. How do you think you would feel if you never had the opportunity to work and discover for yourself that it wasn't for you? Probably resentful and trapped (not to put works in your mouth, that's how I would feel.)

It just so happens in my family, I am the primary breadwinner (as my husband is a student.) He would NEVER have had the opportunity to go back to school to get the education he needs to become what he really wants to be if I didn't have a fairly decent paying job. Then HE would feel resentful and trapped.

However, one must also note a few facts, namely that some of this self centeredness does come from the demands physically that men expect from them....though nowadays women want close to the same amount of physical beauty in a man as vice versa... and also, notice that when a woman gets married...the physical beauty part often goes neglected but the self centeredness skyrockets...
