Windows XP

Has anybody seen XP yet? I just got a copy of the final release of the Professonal version and am about to check it out now.

No, not yet, but I'm committed to upgrading a family member's PC w/ME to XP. ME sucks ass big time...crashes more than 98. I'm running Win2000 & Win2000 Advanced Server.

Heard my bro that the XP betas had quite a few bugs when he was testing.

Where'd you get the copy from? MS, your work, purchased? Public release is next month right?

XP sucks big time. Each time you format your hard drive your gonna have to call microsoft and get a product serial number. And if you decide to upgrade some components on your computer, XP doesn't recognize your computer anymore. It thinks its a different system and will not load. Plus it will not provide MP3-ripping support for Windows Media Player, the default player for its Windows XP operating system. If you have ME, just stick with it because XP is not worth the upgrade.

Dunno I have the Corporate final Beta and its pretty wicked.......................my hacker ex-wife hasn't noticed any of those bad things but I think maybe this Beta final we have doesn't have them activated..........hell I like it better than the 2000 Advanced Server I was running,

Talon the corporate version doesn't have the hardware security features that the personal version will have.

it looks like something you would buy for a kid on screen. no edges, everything has this round shape..and whats up with all the warm fuzzy colours?

I got a copy of it from work, I work in the IT field. I installed it on a computer at work but didn't have time to fool with it much. From what I did see though it does look like something you would buy for a kid as Mr Muscle has stated. The GUI of it is very different, it reminds me of a Mac OS. It will definatly take some getting used to. Hopefully I'll have time to check it out more tomorrow and I'll let you guys know what I think.
