Does anyone know anyhting about window tinting. I just got a ticket in VA for illegal tinting even thuogh my vehicle is not registered in VA. Apparently VA is the only state that enforces their tint laws on out of state travelers.
Any way, I have these numbers on my windows that I think have something to do with the tinting. It says something like AS1 27 8 ...Does anyone know what these numbers mean?

Well... I have heard that you can tint your windows, as long as the front two windows and windshield ( ) are not tinted. (for the safety of the police who may pull you over) Some states may have different laws...

My state it's 35% for the film, however I don't think there's any law on the net %. Remember the glass itself blocks out some light. The officer that busted me measured the net %. I was wondering if any of the numbers on the glass tell what % the film is.

Here in Jerzey it depends on the town. Some cops are pricks and will bust ya for tint if they cant get ya on anything else. I've had tint on almost all of my cars (very dark) and have yet to be pulled over..:knock on wood:

My friend got pulled over once on the way to a club and he spent a half hour agruing with the cop that his windows werent a hazard and he could see out of them just fine. The cop told him to tell him how many fingers he had up. After giving up on the tint ticket he decided to harass us further by asking us if we were drinking. My friends reply was "How could we, you pulled us over we didnt get to the bar yet" The cop obviously pissed off now just told us to get the hell away.
