I didn't flame you. ???
There is a scientific correlation between having an alcoholic parent and later greater tendencies to have an alcohol addiction. However, as you probably learned in science or statistics class, correlation does not always mean that there is a causal relationship. It could be genetic or it could be that the kids just grow up and mimic behaviors of the alcoholic parent, or it could be a false correlation that really correlates to socioeconomic factors and the like. They think it may be a genetic (in the DNA) link but no one think the alcohol itself does it. In other words, if the man isn't an alcoholic but was loaded up on alcohol when the gal got pregnant, it would likely have NO EFFECT whatsoever.
With steroid usage, it has nothing to do with genetics. Steroid use does not alter your DNA. DNA would determine your child's physical appearance and size. I get the feeling that you somehow think the egg or sperm gets soaked in the drugs and it has an effect. That isn't how these things happen. If anything, the kids may be born with some defect, but it won't be like the kids was on steroids.
If that were the case, i guess all parents would be instructed to take lots of antibiotics and analgesics so the kid would never get an infection or a headache in its life. That just isn't the mechanism by which these things work.
