Will US fabricate WMD evidence?

The WMD are definitely there.

Even if they do find them, the Arab world and the extreme liberals will just say we planted them.

I think they have found some credible evidence that indicates that some were exposed to nerve gas of some sort in Desert Storm I.

As for fabricating evidence, why do it? When we find it, the Arab Nations, etc, will just claim that we put it there or that our tests are bs because we took it out of the country for testing. And since we do not trust the UN or it's capabilities, while the rest of the world does, that further complicates the problem. We are damned if we do or don't.

As for Syria, watch out. We are still building our forces (ground) up in the area. We have sent two carriers home, but they can be recalled and quickly replaced.

By the time this is all over, most of that area will have been pounded back to the stone age.

The US may look like it failed to you or the rest of the world. Americans feel heroic right now with or without WMD's. Finding them is only icing on the cake. Dubya doesn't need them to win re-election. Given the typical American attention span, interest in Iraq has about one week left.

hahaha....that was so well said......lol

WMD's are a thing of the past.

The only people who are going to care are in the minority.

WMD's are remarkably a non-issue now. pathetic? yes...considering it was WMD's that got the US the necessary reasons to invade Iraq.

I say 2 weeks more....... :)

Till they re-start the oil pumps. Their computers and infrastructure were looted and/or stolen/broken.

And I'm STILL WAITING for nuclear weapons to be found......lol

But like you said.....Bush has the whole country rallying about him...I think he's going to go for a full house.

Think about it.

Militarily speaking.....having a US Force in iraq is downright spectacular when it comes to ME Control.

In one play, you neutralize every single one of Isreals enemies, create a new Israel-Iraq pipeline, get preferential oil prices for US companies for DECADES, get preferential contracts for the re-building of Iraq, also act as a back-up for any type of attack on Isreal.

Its one thing to be 6000 miles away...but with a military presence in Iraq...you become a MUCH more powerful detterrent for any type of attack on Isreal or an attempt at seizing the oil fields.

Forget it. Bush aint leaving iraq. No chance at anytime soon. He'd be an idiot if he did.

The absolutely astonishing part is most americans think bush did it to "Free the people of Iraq"...lol

Now that IS funny.

Yes, the Pentagon has said as much, recanting its earlier position. However, there is no medical evidence that the exposure was sufficient to cause what we call "Gulf War Syndrome." And, as I said, the MAJORITY of soldiers who exhibit the cluster of symptoms that add up to the syndrome were not exposed.

Actually, the Ministry of Oil was protected from looters. Coincidence?

Pretty good analysis. We will find WMD, but I agree people don't care really. And I think we are going to stay in the Middle East.

You're sounding less and less sure of yourself every day Matt..... :)

Nuclear? Forget it. I'll pay you $1000 if they do.

In regards to Biological Weapons...please..the Iraquis don't have the necessary technological development to create a good biological agent. Small pox is as technological as they got.
And even then...they got it from the US! LOL

Chemical? Give me the raw materials and even i can fabricate a chemical weapon. The raw materials aren't controlled because they are the base for pesticides.

My call is that they will find the raw materials(Probably pesticides) and then SAY:

"We found the precursors to Chemical Weapons"....and then they will leave it at that.

And that will most likely satiate americans everywhere.(Unbelievably)

The old "Big Lie technique" for invasions has been around for ages. This is a shining example of it.

WMD's? No. He should have said the main reason was to destroy any type of terrorist network or up-root a military dictator.

But he was democratically elected(Hussein).

So, the invasion was in interantional law terminology ILLEGAL.

The WMD excuse allowed the US to superseed international laws.

In essence, they fabricated the evidence of WMD's(SPECIALLY nuclear) in order to get the necassary reasons to invade.

And remarkably. Bush has gotten away with it. Fooled americans everywhere.

BBC repoprted that some of the Oil Complex's computers had been destroyed/lost.

Not sure how many...but they wouldn't have mentioned it if it wasn't important.

Might have been somewhere else......I don't trhink it was at basra though.

And forget it Matt, they will not find WMD. Unless they fabricate the evidence of course.

Fonz, I believe that your point about the strategic advantage of holding Iraq is probably the reason we went to war. Iraq is a threat to the US, just like any other western civilization hating nation. They absolutely, without a doubt, have WMD. Lets get that out of the way. While traditional US haters like Russia and China would present more of a military challenge, the biggest, most immediate threat to the US or western civilization as a whole are muslim extremists. As we have seen during the coverage of the war, Iraq and other middle east countries have a great ability to propagandize their population. They also are willing to make their people suffer in order to spend money on their arsenal of weapons. I do not believe these countries build their arsenals for defense. The middle east is a problem that must be dealt with. I think that cleaning up Afghanistan, and annihilating Iraq is a strong strategic move. If we can follow these acts up with a peace plan in Israel/Palestine, then I believe that we could change the course of history. This is what I think the war was about. I do not believe the war was about oil, PNAC, or even Iraqi freedom. Maybe I'm naive, but I think the war was part of a bigger plan to keep the US safe. I don't know if the majority feels like I do, but I feel much safer now than I did in the days, months, after 9/11.
