Will non-fat cottage cheese while cutting make you smooth???

I thought that non-fat cottage cheese would be a good last meal before you go to bed, because it is low carb, and it is a source a casinate protein that is slower digesting compared to whey. A trainer at my gym told me that while he was dieting for a contest, he ate cottage cheese for a few weeks and it made him lose all his cuts. Is this true? What are your thoughts? Iron

I don't think it is true

If anyone still thinks non-fat cottage cheese is bad for you when cutting, please give us proofs, references or studies

and what about 1 can of tuna ?

1 can = 165.0 grams of tuna = # 600mg Na

Unless you add a bunch of salt right before a contest/shoot, none of it is going to really matter, because your body will adjust to the increased intake.

The sodium can be a prob for sodium sensitive individuals, but if you're drinking plenty of water and are consuming adequate potassium then it's not a problem. Cottage cheese is one of the finest foods you can eat for protein IMHO. I would cut it out a week before a comp or photo shoot though.

The sodium in most dairy products cause some to appear smooth. I really dont know many competitors that have dairy in their diet pre contest anyways.

As far as losing water pre contest in the days leading up to a show, i feel this has more to do w/ water manipulation that sodium depletion.
