Will HRT help recover from an injury?

Hey Guys,

I'm a 37 year old cyclist. I've raced road and mountain bikes for the last couple of years and overall am in pretty good shape. However, I've two cracks in my L5 vertebrae that my doc is calling an overuse injury. These cracks are causing some lower back and hamstring pain. I've been through about 1 year of diagnosis and six months worth of physical therapy that haven't really helped. Currently, I've been in a back brace for the last 6 weeks hoping that the cracks will heal. I've scheduled an appointment with an Anti-Aging doc to talk about HRT and if that would benefit me. I could really use some of your advice to prepare for my appointment.

Here are my questions:

1. Ideally, HRT would help heal my fractures, increase bone density to prevent future injuries, and increase/grow the lean structures (muscle and tendons) that support my vertebrae. Can HRT do that?

2. What should I ask my doc to prescribe? I HATE needles. There's no way I would be able to maintain a regular course of injections.

3. I don't want to stay on HRT forever. I just want to heal, reinforce, get stronger and get off of meds completely. Once I'm on HRT am I on for good?

4. I'm 37, how do I prepare for my visit with my doc?

BTW, thanks for reading all of this crap. I would really appreciate anything you can offer me in the way of advice.

I'm going to make some comments that I think will address the real questions:

- IMO and E (opinion and experience) additional aas and HGH speeds up cell growth a LOT. I heal quickly. My recent surgery shows this. I would say that if you take aas and HGH you will heal faster.

- However ... you may need other medical treatment like I did. My damages needed help regardless of my recovery levels.

- True HRT is forever to bring your system back up to normal ranges. You seem to just be looking for a more speedy and effective recovery. This would more like a cycle.

- I do not think a traditional Dr will give you injections of aas to help you recover. Too bad because it would obviously help. You are going to have to seek out a very sympathetic anti-aging Dr. And they are out there.

Well, my Spine doc put me on Test today. My blood results came back as 425 total test and 8 free test. My broken vertebrae has shown some signs of healing and he's thinking that the Test will speed it up plus help to build up the lean supporting structures.

While I'm on this I'm going to eat like a mad man and build my core as strong as possible so I never have to worry about any such problems again. This has been a pretty miserable experience.

Any idea if I could pick up 10 lbs of lean mass on 10% test creme?

You can easily gain 10 lbs on bio-identical or even androgel, especially if you tune the diet by upping proteins and eliminating sugars.

There will be some bloat, but I've found this reduces joint pain.

People scoff at these topicals because you don't get eye popping quick changes. The changes are slow. However, when you read your blood test results, you'll see a big difference.

I'd add some low dosage HGH too. Maybe 1 iu eod.

And ... a bit of a-dex. You can go lightly. Maybe 0.25 two times a week.

lion is spot on. Definitely do not over do the a-dex. Estrogen affects joints by keeping inflammation down. Low estrogen levels can be harsh on your joints. 2 of the known symptoms of low estrogen levels are joint pain and musculoskeletal aching.
