Will grip work make my fingers bigger?

I've always had really long, extremely skinny fingers. Lately I've noticed that they are finally getting a bit thicker.

I've gained about 20-25 pounds in the last few months, but I don't think my body fat has gone up too much. Is it possible to gain more muscle in your fingers, or are they just getting fatter? I have been doing grip and forearm work, which I never did before.

they may be, im not an anatomy specialist of the fingers. if thats the case then i need to stop doing those fucking finger curls.

A lot of time your fingers will get bigger with water retention, not to state to obvious. If you are taking in a lot of water to keep yourself hydrated you will notice a swelling in your hands. I know that when I am really well hydrated my wedding ring does not fit. This coupled with the build up of calous material on the hands makes the fingers look larger.

To anwer your question yoru fingers do have some muscle but mostly tendon. The repetition that your hands get throughout the day often makes it very difficult for them to develop muscle mass.

Anyway, I hope this ifo helps. Most of it is common sense but I thought i would share.

Thanks for the replies guys. Makes sense.

bdm, I'm at about 194-195 first thing in the morning in just underwear. I'm in the middle of trying HST, and I'll probably post before/after pics once it's done (in Sept).
