Will Clomid/Nolvadex Affect Blood Test?

Second Storm

New member
Wanted to get a hormone profile done (i.e. blood test), but I've been taking clomid/nolvadex this past week for an itchy nip.

Will either of these drugs affect the test?

I do not know for sure, but will offer my two cents.
Clomid binds to the estrogen receptor, thereby blocking estrogen from doing the same. So this may increase "free" estrogen if that is even a value.
I answered this on how some things may affect "free" test, which may not correlate to this. Just wanted to give a view. :)

- the nolva should help lipid numbers

- since nolva may affect clotting, some coagulation quants may be affected (fibrinogen? prothrombin?)

- I recall one of the thyroid measures is affected (either t3 or t4)

also obviously LH levels and the results from that

Good replies.

Assuming the blood test is for standard hormone levels only (estradiol, testosterone, SHBG, PSA, DHEAS, cortisol), would there be any effect?

Basically, what I'm asking is . . . if I'm taking clomid and nolva and I get my hormone levels tested, is my Doc gonna read the results and say, "Holy crap, your homorne levels are f-----!"?

Your testosterone levels will be elevated... but not by much if you're a steroid user who already has suppressed T levels. Estrogen may be slightly elevated too... but probably not a big deal either way.
