wihch vits are good to use?

I personally don't think especially for a bodybuilder that any multi is adequate. I think more B complex, C and E especially are warranted. (in fact, for anyone for overall health).

COQ10 and zinc can also be benefical, zinc I always have on hand if I ever feel a cold coming on.

Of course most doctors say taking vitamins won't do you any good , but I haven't been sick in over a decade. I take a B-Complex, 6-10 grams of Vitamin C. Vitamin A, E & D combination as well as Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc. Overkill? Maybe. But I like to think it's doing something positive. :)

Its good to make sure you covering area's you might be lacking, and you probably know this, but toxicity levels build up over time from very high amounts of the same vits/minerals. Do you ever take a month off or use lower doses for a short period?

wow, you havent been sick in over a decade? I average 1.2 times a year i get sick. Handwashing is the key to preventing the spread of illness.

I never took any breaks from the vitamins so far. I read a bunch of old articles by Vince Gironda who advocated "cycling" all supplements and vitamins to get a better effect, but so far I haven't done it myself. I'll have to look into some of the toxic effects of long term use.

And no colds or flu's since the middle of high school.(I'm probably jinxing myself now by posting this.:)) I know they say it doesn't prevent colds, but if I do get a feeling like I'm coming down with something, I'll take anywhere from 10-20 grams of vitamin C a day along with ginger, garlic, cayenne pepper capsules and I feel completely better the next day. Most likely it's just a placebo effect, but I hate to risk it if it might be working.

Placebo, maybe, but that's a similar approach I use and the holistic/traditional combo has to have some benefit because I too have not been sick in so long that really can't remember the last time(6-7 years ago prob)...

Haven't read any of those articles but they should mention that the fat soluble vitamins(A,D,E,K) are what you should be looking out for as they are stored in the fatty tissues and organs and are much harder for the body to regulate. Water soluble of course flush out w/ eliminating.

I take a multi vitamin and mineral, B-complex, vitamin C, and anitoxidants. So far, so good. I think this is a good comination of vitamins. :chomp:
