which dvd format you perfer best and why? For me i choose widesreeen this is the format i think most people buy but i've found a few people who like the full screen.

Full screen. When I watch wide-screen on a normal TV, I feel like I was robbed of the top and bottom few inches.

why would you ever go for full screen if you can watch a movie the way it was made?

I used to buy the "widescreen" version of movies on VHS before DVD. The only time I ever prefer Full-screen is when I'm watching some loser movie on a tiny TV.

One thing however, is that Stanley Kubrick's movies all come in Full-screen only (everything after 2001:SO), because that's they way he wanted them, even though they were shot in Wide-screen.

widescreen only. Even if it has been formatted for full screen, I'll put my dvd player on widescreen. But cannot watch a widescreen movie put into fullscreen. It distrorts the hell out of it.

I have a 4:3 TV but buy all DVDs widescreen because eventually all TVs will be HD and widescreen.

widescreen.

but it helps having a widescreen tv :bday:

I'll second that, unless you have a TRUE widescreen (16*9 aspect) you won't get the full effect of widescreen.

i sued to hate widescreen but i am now used to it and like it much better

i can swtich to a full screen mode on my dvd player but it seems to stretch stufff out therefore widscreen is better

I love widescreen.

My mom hates widescreen, but then she doesn't wear her glasses when she's not working.

When I saw Star Wars in the theaters I could see the stormtrooper hit his head on the far right in one of the death star scenes. On tv I couldn't, but I could hear the mike scratch of the bonk.

Most people buy wide screen because they have 4:3 television and they want the video to fill of the whole screen. They feel like they are missing something with wide screen. I know it's the other way around but what can you do. Plus unless you have a widescreen tv everything is gonna be smaller.

definitely widescreen. my parents bought me the indiana jones boxset in full screen for xmas and i was super pissed
