Wide chest - Genetics or routine?

Curious about the thoughts on this. As I develop my chest over the years I continue to gain size but have developed more of a barrel chest figure versus having good center chest definition giving the appearance of a wide, broad chest.

Maybe Dolph Lungren versus a Matthew Mcconaughey.

If there is development and not genetics, then I would like to add some suggested lifts into my routine that would help develop this wide look instead of continuing to just grow more barrel chested.

Oh okay got yah..I'm the same way.. some of it is genetics.
way i used to bench I used a wider grip more powerlifter think is some of it as well.

Flys with cables are good for continues tension and use a shortened range of motion where don't go out as far activates more interior. Also can do cable fly and squeeze when close with hands and as have em squeezed do an up and down motion between each rep will feel it a lot in ur interior.

Dumbbells seem to work interior better for me as well and when do some of the machines will do limited range motion with them more extended with a narrower grip and feel interior work a little more as well as the tris obviously

The cable flys and using that up and down would be number one suggestion. Give it a try and see

insertion is genetic, but how much muscle you pack on between the inerstion points is all training and diet. terry cruise has TONS of muscle on his chest, but you'll always see his sternum because of how is muscles insert.
