Afghanistan is spelled that way in English because that transliteration from Pashto and Dari has become the most accepted, standard form. In other European languages it's spelled Afganistan. However, it is only a transliteration (the 'h' needed to approximate a specific phoneme that doesn't even exist in English), so for you to criticize someone for spelling a place name that was transliterated into English in the first place is somewhat uncalled for.

Yeah and it's spelled Ohkjlhshskjdlq in some other language, what's your point? We ARE speaking English here, are we not? It's just funny when the poster is trying to mock something/someone and then their post shows how undereducated they are. I'm sure daised didn't mispell it because she wanted to spell it in its original European form. You're giving her too much credit.

on the topics of walmart, i have a friend in london who says there is only one wal mart in all of england. people outside america won't know what the hell you're talking about (wal mart is a very popular full selection chain store in america. so is target. hope that clears things up).

My point is that there was an alternate transliteration in English from Dari that did not have the "h", and even with the standard pronounciation of Afghanistan, the "h" is not voiced. So, to accidentally omit the "h" is not the same as spelling Afghanistan "Ohkjlhshskjdlq." At best, it was a silly spelling mistake influenced by the pronounciation of that word. Btw, it was a simple joke.
