I'm not flexable enough to cross my legs, except ankle over ankle - and that torques my knees.
They're probably not homo's, picture looks like it's from the 50's when people were less gay (overtly anyway) and appeared in public as more civil than we do today.
Can't say it's any worse than the baboons that spread their legs and scratch their nuts in public - LOL.
