Why Men Like Sports....

sports are awesome. they embody the idea of competition and comradery, as well can be a huge representation for an entire geography of people or culture.

Some sports are especially cerebral which makes it interesting from a strategy perspective, especially football. I like basketball but any dumb tall jerkoff can play basketball. The strategic and sports IQ element of it is much less than football or even baseball. But football especially is so involved from a coaching perspective and integral for success. It's like a chess match except your pawns are 6'5 310 lb roided up monsters and your bishops run a 4.43

Coaching in basketball is overrated.

I agree with your analogy Calveless

who cares why men like sports? :D j/k! Sports can satisfy at least one of everyone's desires...even women. Not just physically. All the phychological aspects of sports - excellence, temwork, character, winning, leadership all satisfy basic desires. You can learn alot about someone just by asking why they like a certain sport (if they know enough to know why) :)

nice...what school??? I used to go to the matches at Dartmouth.

well...i wasn't quite that evolved...i got my bs from indiana university of pennsylvania (where i played rugby...2nd row and 8-man) and my mst from robert morris.[/QUOTE]

well ive been following it on and off over the yrs. When I was in the UK, i saw an All Blacks vs. Eng match. talk about evolved...lol

Sports is escapism. Atleast for many it is.

Its an Urban Pacification agent.....
A tool in the arsenal of the power elite to control the passions of the people.

That being said I don't feel judgmental over people that like Sports , its not inherently bad.
I have a problem with males who care more about sports then their wife or child on a Sunday.
But with that being said I get judged harshly among other males who cant understand why I dont like it, or don't care to know why do to their limited thoughts.

That being said, Im 6'3 and a not so small , so that cant do shit about it if they wanted too:artist:
I cant tell you how many times Ive been in front of dudes who ask me aout local sports statistics and I say "who cares, but no offense bros" lol

the european teams play a completely different (i.e., more evolved) game than we do here (hence the eagles...our u.s. international team...has never been ranked higher than 14th, internationally)...i really enjoyed it, though.

oh and, the all blacks reference in your k message? i thought you were talking about undies LOL...hence my response :)

"Ooohh, look at me!!! I'm too elite to enjoy sports! And I'm too big and scary for anyone to do anything about it!!!!"

LOL CEO Im gentle 93.7% percent of the time, and keep to myself.
You have to go out of your way to make me awake.

I just know why I dot like sports, and its baffling too me how the run of the mill guy will take offence to that, nor care for a cerebral explanation without judgment.

Im the Nerd who refuses to be treated like one, and rather WONT be treated like one.

Tell that to Red or Phil, who turned losing teams or teams that just didn't have enough to get to the top into dynasties.

I never understood why people exaggerate the mental aptitude needed to play football, like it requires the equivalent of a degree in rocket science or something. It's strategic yeah, but it doesn't take much more than other sports to learn plays and run your ass off if that's all you have to think about in life.

Men like sports because they can slap each other on the butt and get away with it.

Can we assign someone to keep track of how many times OmEgA refers to his size or intimidation factor?

Maybe keep a global counter on the chat forum page.
