Perhaps because unlike any other first world country the USA is egocentric and backward enough not to seriously learn any second language. In Europe a second and a third and a fourth language are compulsory in school, at at least a simple level.
in holland we learn

Dutch
English
German
French
Greek (optional)
Latin (Optional)
Spanish (optional)

Learning second languages is useful beyond simply communication with those who dont speak English, it also helps one understand other cultures.

If you have something to say, shut up!

I'm personally not interested in learning spanish to cater to immigrants.

They are welcome to learn english however..

spanish is a fucking global language. be happy to get to learn that shit.

and yes immigrants should learn the language of the country their in or piss off OR get their dick shot off with a sawed off shotgun

In Europe the countries are smaller and close together. It's more of a necessity there. The latin population here in the USA is concentrated in certain regions. In my city of 50,000 you probably wouldn't find 20 people speaking Spanish as their native language.

What is Holland's "Official Language" in which all of their government's documents are written, their tests are given in? How many school teach Dutch as a second language?

In the US we do not have an official language.

We cater to students who cannot speak any English yet are attending our schools, thus we have classes in damn near every school that has English as a second language.

Egocentric? Probably. But the amount of money we spend pandering to other languages is probably more than Holland's GDP.

Personally I think its a politically correct waste of money and resources pandering to immigrants (who are going to come over here regardless) but thats just close-minded me.

There weren't any English as a second language classes when my ancestors stepped off the boat. English was the official language then I guess, because it was still a British colony.
