Why is it everytime i take my ten year old twin boys to the gym some old guy comes

Isn't 10 yrs alittle young to be lifting weights? Wouldn't it be better off you starting them off in like T-Ball , swimming , soccer and doing pushups and situps first (body weight shit) , rather than lifting weights?

lol my son has told me that old men have very big "nickels" (aka balls) which means that they hang very low. lolol

he's like, ":mom they're all down here" (pointing to his knees)

They play baseball ,football and are starting Karate next month.I think lifting will be great for them.
I reasearched about lifting a younger ages and its recommended that they can lift but just not too heavy, especially leg presses or squats.Too much weight may alter spine growth.

Yeah I was thinking about the squats/leg presses factor. Well if you've done your HW, good luck. Its good to start ppl off early. BTW if you put them in Karate, MAKE SURE its Kyokushin, and not the other styles .. cuz I was in "Goju-Ryu" when I was 8 and it didn't do shit for me. If you can't find a Kyokushin school, send them to Muay Thai/Kickboxing or Wrestling or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and if you love your kids, you will not even consider Tae Kwan Do.

I wanted to put them in mixed martial arts but its a 45 minute drive to the nearest studio and two days a week would be a bitch to drive.Karate will have to do for now. I hope they teach them something for the damn $200 a month i have to pay. :worried:
I would also love for them to try wresting but its also not in our area.

Yeah it'll teach them disicipline and act as a catalyst for (hopefully) years of martial arts to follow. Well thinking back , the only thing Karate did for me was made me want to get into better martial arts like boxing/MT/BJJ and it gave me the drive to get the hell away from Karate and join something better. It will also help with self confidence- either way, your kids are lucky to be starting in MA so early. BTW- does Misfit know what fromunda cheese is, yet?
